Welcome to Running with Huskies! My name is Anika. I’m a runner/writer/Husky enthusiast living near the coast of Maine. I have been raising huskies for about 14 years now and train them for recreational sledding and cani-cross.
We love backpacking, camping, and adventuring with the dogs year-round. Occasionally there is a litter of puppies we place with devoted husky-loving homes. Breeding is incidental and helps to support the kennel.
Please feel free to say ‘hi’, leave a comment, or ask a question. I love to talk huskies and try to post photos to Instagram regularly.

Hi Anika,
I just wanted to say a quick hello and let you know a little about us. My family (husband and 12 year old daughter) and I have fallen completely in love with the husky breed thanks to our rescue, Bruin. He’s now 10 months old, and we adopted him at 5 months from a local husky rescue. He’s 86% Siberian Husky, with the rest a mix of Alaskan Malamute and German Shepherd and 100% just perfect.
We weren’t quite prepared for the never-ending “husky glitter” (our poor vacuum has seen better days), but we’ve embraced it as part of the package. We love everything about the breed, their spirit, personality, and loyalty, and we’re hoping to find another husky to grow up alongside Bruin.
After doing some research, I came across your story and was really moved by the passion and care you put into your dogs. They are absolutely exquisite.
We’re excited at the thought of welcoming another husky into our family and would love the chance to connect with you more.
Best,
Angie Grenon
